What is Iyengar Yoga ?
Iyengar Yoga is grounded in the eight limbs of Yoga as codified by the ancient sage Patanjali. It emphasizes precision, alignment, sequencing, and therapeutic use of props to make postures safe and accessible.
This ancient practice offers profound therapeutic benefits for students with injuries, chronic conditions, postural imbalances, or those needing restorative practices. It explores the dynamic relationship between body, mind, and breath.
As a Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher and practitioner, I offer therapeutic applications that help individuals manage stress, reduce pain, improve relaxation, and unlock the wide-ranging benefits of yoga.
In my classes, students of all levels receive personalized guidance to cultivate strength, stability, flexibility, balance, and inner calm.
I have cultivated and developed my Iyengar Yoga practice at the esteemed IYI LA over the past 25 years, taking on various roles as a dedicated student, an enthusiastic practitioner, and an inspiring teacher. My journey led me to study extensively at the renowned Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune, India, where I had the honor of learning from distinguished teachers, including Geeta Iyengar, Prashant Iyengar, and Abhijata Iyengar.
My teaching approach deeply reflects the rich traditions and profound knowledge of this respected Iyengar lineage, infusing my classes with authenticity and depth.
